چکیده

Reconstruction and augmentation of the alveolar bone defects pose a challenge for dental surgeons due to its complex structure. The primary objective tissue engineering is regenerate or replace damaged tissues organs including with grafts, cells, biological molecules. 45S5-bioglass (45S5-BG), superior osteoconductive osteoinductive abilities, has been at forefront engineering, regeneration, periodontal regenerative surgical procedures past several years. With aim regenerating supporting bone, 45S5-BG was synthesized via sol-gel technique. characterized by X-ray Diffraction (XRD) Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) analysis. In vitro bioactivity study validated in simulated body fluid (SBF) analysed Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). cell compatibility assessed 3-(4,5-dimethylthyazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay using L929 cells. Further, vivo potential graft evaluated. XRD spectrum confirmed formation combeite crystalline phase after sintering. TEM images imparted ultra-structural features sample proved presence major embedded glassy matrix. hydroxy carbonate apatite (HCA) as FTIR MTT results histological analysis new formation. Within limitations this study, demonstrated that addition observed bioactive compatible properties, exhibited notable potential.

Enhanced Stability of Calcium Sulfate Scaffolds with 45S5 Bioglass for Bone Repair

Calcium sulfate (CaSO₄), as a promising tissue repair material, has been applied widely due to its outstanding bioabsorbability and osteoconduction. However, fast disintegration, insufficient mechanical strength and poor bioactivity have limited its further application. In the study, CaSO₄ scaffolds fabricated by using selective laser sintering were improved by adding 45S5 bioglass. The 45S5 bi...

Characterizing the hierarchical structures of bioactive sol-gel silicate glass and hybrid scaffolds for bone regeneration.

Bone is the second most widely transplanted tissue after blood. Synthetic alternatives are needed that can reduce the need for transplants and regenerate bone by acting as active temporary templates for bone growth. Bioactive glasses are one of the most promising bone replacement/regeneration materials because they bond to existing bone, are degradable and stimulate new bone growth by the actio...

Injectable gel graft for bone defect repair.

AIM To examine the performance of an injectable gel graft made of transglutaminase (Tg)-crosslinked gelatin gel with BMP-2 (BMP-2-Tg-Gel) for bone defect repair in animal models. MATERIALS & METHODS BMP-2 mixed with gelatin gel was crosslinked using Tg. The release of tethered BMP-2 through autocrine and paracrine pathways was demonstrated by using C2C12 and NIH 3T3 cells, respectively. BMP-2...

Sol-gel synthesis of (Ca-Ba)TiO3 nanoparticles for bone tissue engineering

Piezoelectric materials are the group of smart materials which have been recently developed for biomedical applications, such as bone tissue engineering. These materials could provide electrical signals with no external source power making them effective for bone remodeling. Between various types of materials, BaTiO3 and CaTiO3 are nontoxic piezoelectric ceramics, which recently have been intro...
